When you find yourself in Rome and craving traditional Italian cuisine with a homey touch, Trattoria Guerra is the place to be. Located in the heart of the city at Via Eleonora d'Arborea, 5, 00162 Roma RM, Italy, this charming eatery has been serving both locals and tourists the true taste of Roman culinary heritage for years. From the moment you step inside, you’ll feel the warmth and authenticity that makes this trattoria a standout among the countless restaurants in Rome.

One of the standout features of Trattoria Guerra is its menu, which is a delightful journey through the rich flavors of Italy. The restaurant specializes in classic Roman dishes that use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for a simple but satisfying plate of pasta or a more indulgent meat dish, you’ll find something to suit your tastes. The pasta is particularly noteworthy, with options like cacio e pepe, carbonara, and amatriciana, each prepared to perfection. The balance of flavors, the richness of the sauces, and the tenderness of the pasta make each bite an experience worth savoring.

For those looking to explore more substantial options, the saltimbocca alla romana is a must-try. The tender veal, lightly sautéed with prosciutto and sage, delivers a burst of flavors that perfectly embody the spirit of Roman cooking. Another standout is the osso buco, a slow-cooked veal shank that’s incredibly tender and served with a delightful gremolata that adds a zesty touch to the dish. It’s comfort food with a touch of elegance, ideal for anyone looking to dive deep into authentic Roman flavors.

But it’s not just the food that makes Trattoria Guerra memorable. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a traditional Roman décor that includes wooden tables, checkered floors, and soft lighting. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy a long, leisurely meal with friends or family. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff who are more than happy to guide you through the menu and recommend the best pairings from their wine list.

The wine selection at Trattoria Guerra is also something worth mentioning. The restaurant offers an impressive array of Italian wines, many of which are locally sourced. Whether you're a fan of red, white, or sparkling, you’ll find a wine that complements your meal beautifully. The sommelier is always available to offer suggestions based on your preferences, ensuring that every meal is paired with the perfect bottle.

  • I can’t complain! €5 for lunch with drink included is a great way to save in Rome. Fast service and very well served, everything was very good! If you want to see a full video of the place, with tips and dishes, there is the video on my YouTube channel @laurapontelli

  • They deliver what they promise: pasta, wine, and coffee for 5 euros. Don't expect five-star service or spotless cleanliness. The fight for a seat is real, and not everyone respects the order of arrival. Here's a tip: stay alert and wait inside the restaurant — when someone gets up, grab the seat quickly. The service is fast, and the food is good. Definitely worth it.

  • We arrived at 1.15 PM, it was empty, no line. Tried the 5 eur menu and it was good. Very good value for money, portion is good, and it's delicious. I gave a 4 star review because there is room for improvement. The staff could throw a smile here and there, but they look dead . I saw the owner's comment that you can't have everything with 5 Eur about a similar comment, but being pleasant and nice has nothing to do with how much you pay. Teach your staff that paying less does not equal being treated poorly. + the cafe has suger, without taking in consideration people who do not consume sugar or who are diabetic. I KNOW it's written, but that doesn't mean it's a good decision. Overall, it's a good experience to do once in a while, or once in your life as a tourist, but there are improvements needed.

  • Found this place because it was close to where we were staying. Probably had some of my favourite food the entire 2 weeks in Italy. Service was fantastic and our server taught us a thing or two! Wine was delicious

  • It's nice experience to have cheap meal and wine for 5€ and everyone else except us are the locals. There's no menu so you just have to sit where the waiters guide you and wait for them to bring you the water, wine and the food. The food is whatever the chef makes on the day. It's really a nice experience. You also can pay with card, but they don't accept American Express card.

  • I recently had lunch with my family at Trattoria Guerra, and it was a delightful experience. The Italian pasta was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere of Trattoria Guerra is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and attentive

  • Amazing food for a fraction of a price in town. 5€ for pasta, bottle of water and bottle of wine. Opening times 13:00 - 15:00 and 20:30 - 22:00. Small cozy place for locals. We're only tourist on Friday at 13:00. You don't choose your pasta, you get pasta of the day, sit down and they'll bring it to your table

  • Good quality food, fast service. They deliver what they promise and it's great to have a quick, cheap lunch. Closed menu for 5€ (big pasta dish + water, wine and coffee). Almost impossible to find something like this today in such a big and touristic city! A hidden gem.
